As we prepare to dive into the potential of agroforestry systems for the bioeconomy in our upcoming webinar on 2nd of March, we are highlighting the innovative work at our demo site in Poland 🌿 .
Located in the Vistula Delta (Żuławy Wiślane) in the North of Poland, this demo site is demonstrating a specialized agroforestry system that intercrops poplar with hay production 🌾. This approach is designed to boost resilience, providing more stable production on naturally less fertile soils, in the face of increasingly unpredictable climate swings. It is also offering a viable model for biomass production for the bioeconomy without competing with food crops.
Our upcoming webinar will feature Mateusz Ciasnocha, founder of European Carbon Farmers and the manager of the Polish demo at his family farm 🚜 , who will join our experts to share his vision and field results. Mateusz is a catalyst for agricultural transformation and a carbon farming pioneer in his country. Through the regular meetings of the Regional Advisory Group 🧑🌾 , he is driving this change by empowering his peers, sharing practical lessons learned to help other farmers adopt innovations with confidence.
